Community Mosque — Hybrid Solar Installation
South Punjab, Pakistan
Location
South Punjab
System Type
Hybrid (Grid + Battery)
Capacity
5kW+
Mounting
Elevated Steel Canopy
A 5kW+ hybrid solar power system installed at a local mosque in South Punjab, combining grid and battery backup to ensure uninterrupted power for prayer times, lighting, and cooling — even during outages.
The Challenge
Like many mosques in South Punjab, this mosque faced high electricity costs and frequent, prolonged power outages that disrupted essential services such as lighting, fans, and sound systems during prayer times — a common issue in the region where load-shedding hours are often longer than in major cities.
Our Solution
Our team installed a 5kW+ hybrid solar system, combining grid-tied solar generation with battery storage. This setup allows the mosque to draw power from solar panels during the day, store excess energy in batteries, and automatically switch to battery backup during grid outages — ensuring the mosque never goes dark, regardless of load-shedding schedules. The panels were mounted on an elevated steel canopy structure above the mosque’s covered courtyard, maximizing sun exposure while preserving the usable space below for worshippers.
The Impact
With this installation, the mosque now enjoys consistent, low-cost power for lighting, fans, and its sound system — allowing it to serve its community without interruption, day or night. This is especially valuable in South Punjab, where extended outages during summer months put a heavy strain on both comfort and cost. The project also reduces the mosque’s dependence on the national grid, cutting monthly electricity expenses and contributing to a cleaner environment.
